Solar traffic signal systems
Signals that run on sunlight. No grid, no generator, no cable across the road.
Complete off-grid junction systems for three- and four-way junctions: LED signals, countdown timers, pedestrian crossings and a wireless controller, all powered by the sun.

Why solar
The junctions that need signals most often have the least reliable power. Our solar systems bring their own.

Keeps working through outages
Every pole charges its own batteries, so a grid failure never turns the junction dark.
No trench across the road
The controller reaches each pole by radio. Install with minimal digging and no lane closures for cabling.
Low running cost
No electricity bills and no generator fuel. LEDs rated for 50,000+ hours.
Choose a system
6 systems, designed around the junction you have.
Pick a junction type, then a system. The plan shows where each pole goes and how the signals run.
4-way crossroad system
Crossroad Standard
Our complete crossroad system. Overhead full-ball signals and countdowns on all four approaches, near-side signals at the stop line, and pedestrian signals on all eight crossing points.
- Eight vehicle signals, four countdowns
- Eight pedestrian signals
- Up to 12 vehicle phases

How it works
From sunlight to green light, on every pole.
Step 1
Solar panel
100–150 Wp on every pole, angled to the sun.
Step 2
Charge controller
Regulates charging and protects the batteries.
Step 3
Battery bank
Sealed batteries carry the junction through the night and cloudy days.
Step 4
Wireless controller
Runs the timing plan and talks to every pole by radio.
Step 5
Signals
Vehicle, countdown and pedestrian signals at 24 V DC.
Wireless junction controller
A different plan for every hour of the week.
The controller stores 18 timing plans and switches between them on a weekday, weekend and special-day schedule, each split into 24 time bands.
No cable across the road
Master and slave units link over dual-band radio built to resist interference.
18 timing plans
Store up to 18 plans and switch between them automatically through the day.
Weekday, weekend and special days
Each day type splits into 24 time bands. Up to 20 special days, such as public holidays or market days.
Safe on fault
If anything fails, every signal goes to flashing amber instead of conflicting greens.
Wiring-safe
Reverse-polarity protection, so a wrongly connected battery can't damage the controller.
Remote override
A handheld remote can set all-red, step to the next phase or hold the current phase for 120 seconds.
Pedestrian push buttons
Master and slaves all accept push buttons that call the pedestrian plan.
GPS-synced clock
Plans change at exactly the right time, every day, without drift.
Components
Every part, specified for heat, dust and rain.
Full-ball LED signal
Three 300 mm aspects packed with high-brightness LEDs, readable in direct sun and through rain.
- Diameter
- 300 mm
- LED life
- 50,000+ hours
- Average power
- 1.8 W
- Supply
- 24 V DC
- Protection
- IP54
Arrow signal
Directional red, amber and green arrows so each turning movement can run its own phase.
- Diameter
- 300 mm
- LEDs
- 90 per colour
- Average power
- 1.7 W
- Supply
- 24 V DC
- Protection
- IP54
Signal with countdown
The seconds remaining are built into the head, so drivers read colour and time together.
- Diameter
- 300 mm
- LEDs
- Up to 264 per colour
- Average power
- 2.6–4.2 W
- Supply
- 24 V DC
- Protection
- IP54
Countdown timer
Large two-digit display that learns the cycle from the signal and counts down every phase.
- Size
- 300 or 400 mm
- Digit height
- 255 mm
- Average power
- 0.6–2.3 W
- Supply
- 24 V DC
- Protection
- IP54
Pedestrian signal
Standing red and walking green figures, with push buttons wired to the controller's pedestrian plan.
- Size
- 200 or 300 mm
- LEDs
- 77 red / 125 green
- Average power
- 2.05 W
- Supply
- 24 V DC
- Protection

Wireless junction controller
A master unit and a slave on each pole talk over dual-band radio, so there is no cable trenched across the junction.
